The elephant in the room

First of all...if anyone thinks I am talking about them...then you should either see a shrink, seriously think about salads or have lunch at a salad bar with your shrink.

Seriously now...

More than 20 years ago the organization I used to belong to practiced with energy (Chi/Qi).  It was interesting to say the least and I did enjoy it...but it was not practical.

It used to get me sick.  What I mean is that the next day I felt like I had been run over by a truck the night before.  So I stayed away from it for many years because of this and focused on techniques where I actually got my hands on someone.

I believe that there is something there.  I believe that when one is really focused on what is going on in their body...they can become more aware of this "inner" power.

I think it is good for health and great for demos...but to be able to pull it off when someone is trying to take your head off....well...good luck with that!

I have had some weird things happen in controlled situations...but not when it was about to "hit the fan" and if those out there that think they can pull this off for real...well...you are much better than I am and I guess I should just hang it up.

One problem I see is that even those long time martial artists have a hard time just believing in pressure points and Kyusho KO's.  Start talking about chi and they just start telling you that you are crazy...sort of like the race card shuts down most conversations...the C (chi) card can do the same.

Just say no!!!

Like I said...it does have its place for health and demonstrations in controlled situations...not for real combat and those teaching this to others as part of a curriculum of self defense...are going to get their students killed...IMO.

There are people out there teaching this as an integral part of their programs and I personally think this is dangerous and will get someone hurt.  They are small players in the martial arts world...but all it takes is one crackpot to ruin things for many serious people out there.

So my question for you is...what do you think of chi?

Until next time KO your obstacles by keeping it simple, keeping it safe, and train with PinPoint™ accuracy.
