Did you know...?
A few years ago, a competing school opened up right near mine. This was no big deal until he started attempting to poach students through a variety of means. None of this worked and he was out of business 6 months to the day of his "grand" opening.
His idea of marketing was above the front door and some flyers. While this could be a good start...there is much more to this and an art unto itself.
I myself did not put him out of business. His business was doomed from the start because he was missing one crucial skill...marketing and/or the foresight to hire someone to help him with this.
Whether you like marketing or not, it is a crucial strategic skill that is necessary to survive the treacherous waters of business. Just like having grappling and striking skills as a part of your martial arts arsenal...marketing skills and strategies are equally if not more important.
These are skills that must be honed and sharpened, the same way the physical skills we train to perfect.
If you are already a teacher, or looking to be one, learning effective marketing skills are necessary to get your message out.
Here are a few things I have learned along the way.
1. Define who it is that you want to teach
2. Craft your message towards this group
3. Make sure your message matches this group in everything that you do.
4. Deliver on what you promise.
This is just a starting point.
For years I had made the mistake of not following the above fully and the results were mixed. Once I started focusing on all of the above...the results increased dramatically.
There is much more to this, but these are a great start to getting your message out effectively.
I can honestly say from my own experience that if you just keep pumping out message after message for no other reason than putting something out...you are wasting your time.
You have a unique message that you can share with the world. You have to find out what that is and then deliver it effectively.
So, my question for you today...what is your unique message you want the world to see?
Until next time KO your obstacles by keeping it simple, keeping it safe, and train with PinPoint™ accuracy.
