Coco Puffs
Growing up there were so many cereals that were the worst things to eat...but they had great marketing!
They were nothing more than a sugary coating wrapped in more sugary BS, but hey...there was a prize in the box for subjecting ourselves to this dietary abuse:-)
The same is true today of education and online courses.
There are many quality online courses out there. Some have a great combination of great marketing and equally great content. Others...well...they have really good marketing. Did I say that they have really good marketing?
On the surface cereals like Coco Puffs, Captain Crunch, Frankenberry, Boo Berry, etc. were a collection of sugary garbage that did nothing for you...but your dentist was extremely busy!
When looking at online programs...one must look to see is the content is relevant and that there is a comprehensive long term educational strategy..or else what good is it?
Sadly...most programs do not have a long term strategy...they are just looking for a short term cash hit...lets be honest.
When I started my online program...we first spent almost 2 years researching how to take my personal method and present it in such a way as to make the learning easy. The first thing I had to do was to reshoot everything....I tried taking old content..which I thought was relevant, but the delivery method is where I fell short.
We shot all new footage based on this new "recipe" and it just took off!
The most important part was the feeback through both written testimonials and speaking via video phone and in person to those in the program. The recipe that we created helped to bridge the learning gaps tremendously and quickly...just as I promised.
The goal going into this was to create a comprehensive program based on the actual model that I was using personally...but just did not really know how I was able to learn quickly.
All of this has helped us to Redefine how not just Kyusho but martial arts in general can be learned.
My question for you today is...what can you do to increase the quality of your mental diet and not be suckered into the Coco Puffs syndrome of looks good on the outside...but when internalized...it retards your growth?
