Rocks in your feed bag?
Growing up my parents had a friend from Ohio that they had met in Barbados. He would keep all of us entertained all day as we hung out at the pool with him and his wife and then the whole family would go to room 105 for drinks and canned cheese and crackers.
Uncle Wil would tell us story after story about him growing up and the trouble he got in growing up during the depression. He kept us in stitches and to this day, when someone in the family starts part of one of his sayings...someone else is sure to finish it.
"What's the matter Wilbur (Uncle Wil)? Got rocks in your feedbag?"
I guess this was the depression era equivalent of asking someone if they have just have too much clutter in their attic
So what does this have to do with Kyusho and martial arts training in general?
There are many different ways to train martial arts...as you already know. When I first started on this journey, and I have spoken about this in the past...there were many in our group that could tell you every acupuncture theory under the sun...one of them was even a 3rd or 4th degree black belt and a medical professional...and none of them could make the techniques work.
Sure they talked a good game...as do many who have purchased a video or ebook here and there.
The devil is in the detail of learning how the techniques work from a mechanical POV...where you can prove the "theories" work.
So if you want to talk about the cycle of destruction (Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Theory)...no problem...prove that you can make it work with precision and poise...or go sit down, play with your blocks (pun intended) and let the adults who are interested in understanding how to move better, make the techniques work, etc.
People don't want to be honest with those they are selling things to...and more importantly...THEMSELVES.
I honestly don't care about what you know...if all you do is want to tell me. Show me because the proof is in the doing...not the telling.
So back to the start of this post and my questions for you today...
Do you have rocks in your feedbag? Do you have clutter in your attic? Focus on the doing...not the telling...You will be better off for it in the long run.
