Innovation

Why is it that the light bulb is associated with creativity or a new idea?  For starters, when we turn on the light...we can now see what was right in front of us...but for some reason...was not very clear.  Secondly, the light bulb also signifies the illumination of the mind through intellectual or spiritual enlightenment.

There are many ways to innovate.

Innovation can be in the form of the verbiage you use in, for example, a restaurant, "Do you want fries with that?"

One particular restaurant started using that phrase about 20 years ago and it has made them millions of $ in their coffers and put millions of pounds of fat on their clientele.  The phrase was innovative...the result...no so much...but we are only talking about innovation here:-)

I recently heard a story about Franchise that had grown its membership by 50% in just 7 months after a new leadership team had taken over.  This did not happen just because they are great at organizing...but because they are great innovators.

Well...a member of the group complained to corporate...who had directly benefited both financially and in membership (this could be considered the same thing, but I don't look at like that) from the innovations this leadership team installed from day one.

They were told to do things by the book or they would be replaced.  I am not sure why corporate first did not look into what they were doing and the results of what they have accomplished in such a short time and was amazed at the short farsightedness of this.  I still am as I write this.

They had created an exciting atmosphere that was drawing in people who wanted to be a part of this exclusive group.  Now they have to go about business as it used to be...which was ok...but nothing special.

I was at a sandwich shop the other day.  They have been in business for 33 years.  They are a US Franchise.  I see changes every few months in new things they are doing.  A company that has been in business for 33 years has implemented something new...IMAGINE THAT?

The most successful companies are the ones that continue to innovate and push the envelope.

At the Kyusho Institute...we look to do the same...innovate.  This innovation comes not only in the methodology of the learning experience, but in the delivery as well and we continue to become a leader in this field.

My question for you today is...Where can you make small slight changes that give great results to your relationships, business, or any part of your life?
